News of the Weird: Vocalist/songwriter Christina Morgan, Temple TX, apparently had her body taken over by 'a good demon' at TweakHeadz Lab. The owner of the studio, who only goes by the name Tweak, told the press 'Well, she had been working hard while we recording a song about goddess spirits 'n stuff... then she kinda snapped and yelled out 'This is NOT crazy!; I want CRAZY!'. And that is when I snapped the photo." Tweak went on to say he has all the demonic statements on his computer because they were recording at the time. Morgan was unavailable for comment. ____________________lol_________________________ Tweak Writes: I sketched out the song idea on October 22, 2008 on a Motif XS. It was originally called "Monkey Island" after one of the custom World Cafe Patches I have in my Motif. I transferred the tracks to soft synths in Logic, but kept the Motif tracks in the background, can changed the name to the Goddess of Ibiza. Christina Morgan put the rough vocals on Oct 24. We did a second session Nov 7th. Christina worked hard to get a "crazy" sounding vocal. I think we succeeded! I went all out vocal processing on this piece. Eq tricks everywhere; automated dynamic effects are moving under many sounds if you listen close. Many of the vocal effects were either done in Logic or in my new V-synth GT. Pitch transforms were all done in Logic, which is just so great at this kind of thing. Some of the instruments used are: Bass: Trilogy Modern Funk True Staccato Strings: East-West RA ME strings; Magraf Violin, DaDuk StormDrum: Thunder Hits and Cymbals Stylus RMX: Power Claps (custom) Es2 (Logic) Photon Blast Tweak's World Cafe Sounds: Tablas, Indian frame drum, Clapper Stick, Bells, Chimes, Sitar One Ethnoworld: Wuhan Gong Culture: Various hand drums and lite metals Korg MS20 did some of the ocean waves and winds Others used were the MOTU MX4, Ultrabeat analog tweaks; Sculpture custom sounds. Heavy automation in this one.
