Story behind the song
Russian romance is an emotional, often melodramatic song that mainly deals with feelings of love, betrayal, nostalgy, death etc. It was immensly popular in Russia of the 19th century. It survived the 20th century and even today there are millions of people in Russia who love this uncovered display of emotions.
