I wrote this song this morning in support of the Ukrainian people. It's on the rough side but sometimes that's ok.

Story behind the song
I wrote this song this morning in support of the Ukrainian people. I am proud of these people standing up to Russian aggression and fighting for their country. Their sense of pride and patriotism is overwhelming. Please support them any way possible. God Bless their Nation and people.
Lyrics
Don’t Cry, Run Faster Dan Andrade (3/26/2022)
These are bad times that we live in.
I see it every day.
A small man that would rule the world
Drops bombs like falling rain.
He don’t care if you live or die
Just don’t get in his way
He’ll never have to pay the price
Until his judgement day
For all the people that he murdered
Just to have his way
Don’t cry, run faster
A mother tells her son
A four year old can’t understand
Why a bomb blew up his home
Don’t cry, run faster
We have to get away
She pulls him close and staggers on
To find someplace safe.
Later in a bomb shelter, huddled in the dark
The boy asks his mother, where is dad tonight.
He’s out there on the front lines fighting to protect us all
That’s why we have to be brave, why we stand up tall.
This is our country
We have to stand and fight
Pray to God to save us
On us to shine his light
Now close your eyes and get some sleep
The sun will rise again
We still have far to travel
To be safe in the end
This is a war that Putin will never win.
Don’t cry, run faster
A mother tells her son
Don’t cry, run faster
A mother tells her son
Don’t cry, run faster
There will come a day
The sun will shine
The war will end
And we will have our way
