Singer/songwriter, Movie Soundtracks.
Hi Folks, Im from Glasgow, Scotland and have been trying, like most people here, to get that break which is so elusive to most of us. Truly glad to say, that after many years of trying and blowing a few chances along the way, Ive recently been asked for 8 of my songs, in various styles, for the sountrack of the forthcoming action movie; "Revenge", which is in development at present. Also, was offered a wee acting part which Im really lookin forward to. I write in many styles including; country, country-blues, soul, Motown, rock, dance, disco, house/rave, jazz-swing, pop, Celtic and comedy. Coast-To-Coast Music was set up after being contacted about supplying songs and doing the soundtrack for this movie and, with an awful lot of hard work and luck, Im hoping to develop this company into an internationally recognized name. We are actively seeking an established, major artist/s to cover the 2 main country tracks which are to feature in several scenes as well as inclusion on the soundtrack. Both are uploaded here for appraisal - one in several versions. Contact me at: Coast_To_Coast_Music@hotmail.com if you meet this criteria and wish to discuss things further. My dad; Robert Leggat, does the basic Hank Williams-type arrangement of "Honky Tonkin" and Im sure a great many people, who have an ear for a real country-soul voice, will get a great deal out of his unique and heart-felt vocal performance which, Im delighted to say, is to be included on the movie soundtrack. Ok, folks, thats me for now...anything you want to know - just ask by e-mailing me at the enclosed address. Best wishes from Scotland, Stuart Leggat

Story behind the song
Returning from Blackpool, England, on train and on way back to Glasgow, Scotland. Had been visiting my dad, Robert Leggat, who has a sensational country-blues voice and he had just finished a sing-song session of, mostly, Hank Williams numbers which I was brought up on as a very young kid. It must have set me off in some way, cause when the train broke down in the middle of nowhere for over an hour, I suddenly had this catchy wee melody and some words ie., Honky Tonkinappearing from nowhere and runnin through ma head. I knew I should try and memorize it and sang it over and over to myself to try and make sure of this. My producer; Sandy Brown, was with me and I sort of hummed what I was hearing to him as we stood there (train was packed so had to stand). He said it sounded real good and that he was looking forward to recording the finished number. (this was in 1990). I always do several very different versions of any song I write (tip I got from an article by R.C.As most successful singer/songwriter; Frankie Miller). I have 2 versions by myself, my dad and a female from Glasgow and one from Nashville. So glad to say, that after many years of trying, with a few near misses along the way, the Texas-swing version, produced by a Curb Records producer and my dads very basic front porch, Hank Williams-type version, has been requested for inclusion on the soundtrack and several scenes of the forthcoming action movie; "Revenge", which Ive to do the overall soundtrack for. If I believe in a song, I will never, ever, give up trying to push it and, if nessessary, update it. Id strongly recommend to any songwriter to do several versions, using different producers, of any song they believe has that wee bit of magic because maybe, just maybe, one of them will give it that certain somethin that makes it stand out as an obvious hit to the people that matter most; the moversnshakers that have the last say on it. A male Texas-swing version was recently released in the European Country Music Charts and, even as a basic demo, with an unknown singer, it set the record of being the fastest-climbing song ever in this chart (91-26 in one week and made the top 10). I sincerely believe it would do as well as that other traditional-type country number; "Blue", by LeAnn, if borught up to master standard for the U.S.A charts and beyond. Finally, Ill upload a female (duet vocal) version which has an extended and changed verse which develops the storyline a lot more.
