Artist picture
Dale Haywood is a singer/songwriter from Colora, Maryland. After several cover bands and years of live gigs Dale decided to attempt recording his own songs. With the help of several friends, Dale has recorded a large catalogue of original music. His music covers everything from Country to Blues to Rock, but all of it has a heavy southern influence. Most of the recordings were created in his home studio and none of them would have been possible without the generosity and creativity of some very talented friends. Dale continues to write, record, and occasionally perform his music whenever given the opportunity.

Story behind the song
This song sounds alot like "Can't You See" by the Marshall Tucker Band. Some will say it's a ripoff. What some call a ripoff, I call influence. Anyways, it sounded too much like the afore mentioned song so we made some changes and I believe we changed it enough to call it our own. Like it or not, the guitar solo is awesome as far as I'm concerned. This is the handy work of John Herring. Once he got his mitts on this tune it came alive. This is actually a rerecord that we never finished. I guess I should say that I never finished. At the end you'll hear me crack out and give up and for some reason I never went back and fixed it. It's kinda funny, actually.
Lyrics
You Sittin’ back thinkin’ about my upbringin’ And all the good folks in whom I can depend Through all the good times and all the hard times I know whom I can call my kin They say to hope for the best and expect the worst Well, the worst been beatin’ down my front door Sometimes it wins and walks on in, no matter how hard I fight I find myself straight out, lyin’ on the floor But then there’s -CHORUS- You … reachin’ out your hands Pullin’ this drownin’ man back to shore Yeah, there’s you … sharin’ my pain, tryin’ to understand Gettin’ knocked down and comin’ back for more … -SOLO- Lookin’ back … you’ve given me my best years And in return for that there’s only one thing I can do I just ask God everyday to help me give back that love And the only way is for me to be just like … -CHORUS-
