Lyrics
Moon light on the water a haze along the shore a dead man in the river Just can’t take it anymore Oh my body’s restless in the night And I hear voices in the wind I can’t stay I’ve got to distance myself I need asylumfrom the state of mind I’m in I’ll head on down now to the station with this old bag across my back got no plan or reservation I know I won’t be coming back Oh I feel the danger here tonight like no place I’ve ever been Shadows lingering long into the night I need asylum from this hell I’m living in and one eyed Sadie said I only look like half the man I used to be when did these changes come that drained out all the life, I had inside of me I’ve tried to put it all behind me I've got nothing left to say no one ever tried to find me I’ll be gone by light of day Oh I hear the screaming in the night I feel the blood rush through in my veins I can’t stay I’ve got to distance myself I need asylum from this hell I’m living in won't you come and see me off now on this dark cold winters day I don’t need a better reason than I live through day to day Oh my body’s trembling inside the fear is coming back again I have to go I’ve got to get the hell away I need asylum from this state of mind I’m in And One eyed Sadie said she only sees one half the man I use to be she watched these changes come and drain out all the life I had inside of me Can you hear me I think I’ve found a way I’ve been down so long no chance in hell now that I’ll turn the other way I think I know where I belong Oh my body’s restless every night and I hear voices in the wind I can’t stay I have to distance myself I need asylumfrom this hell I’m living in If it’s not meant to be You’ll never force the the outcome that you want to see but if it’s meant to be there’s nothing that can hold back what will always be

OK I love the name. The sound love Jethro Tull so love the flute. AXE and flute can not go wrong I think this is my fav to date love the sound wow. Lyrics excellent, vox recorded perfect and mid song a nice change-break but a build up from non electric to a full sound well done.. The flute I have the pleasure of doing a colab with a board member of mine double Grammy nominated and film musician and everything Jose Valentino look him up, great friend and an honor to have him add to some of my ambient stuff love flute song is simply brilliant love, love this one my friend.I am just 100% into this song very different from your sound as far as I have heard. Bravo.

Soft and gentle music with a powerful message that brings it right up front and center Dale, and punches you in the gut with reality. Perfect vibe for Asylum

This creation is superb, the lyrics are wonderful, and the accompanying guitar and flute make this one of the best songs I've heard in a long time, well done Dale !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love the intro!!! Delicious sound and playing of that acoustic and the flute aswell. And you shure know how to write lyrics and perform them aswell too! Your soaring voice is so suitable for this stuff. I felt the hairs on my arms raising when you fire up the electric together with the hammond!:) I got Zeppelin vibes from this one. Defently your best work so far this one. When you raise the bar with the electric at 3.00 mark is simply supurb. So very well done my friend!

Good tune Dale! Your vocals are top notch and the instrumentation is just excellent. Loved the folky beginning with the nicely recorded acoustic and some real fine fingerpickin'. The flute was a joy and was woven into the song really well. The rock section was a hoot with that mean, growly bass and that screamin' B3. Good lead solo. Lyrically, alot of food for thought and some good imagery. All in all, a real well done song on all counts. Bravo!

There is sad and even heavy depressed atmosphere in the lyrics of the song, however, who may say that this is the wrong way for the music, which wield all of the emotional spectrum? I've perceived that as a genuine rock ballad with both sad and touching mood at the same time, and... well, I have felt the real resonance in my heart while listening to the story. There are sweet nuances of a flute timbre here, sometimes those passages and trills are sparkling. Very impressive the second (hard rock style) part of the song with pretty nice and tasty guitar sound and riffs. Heartfelt vocal and acoustics... I think this is a good musical luck of yours, Dale! And I find it's awesome! :)

Last record for 2017 but surely one of the best of the year in your great music collection Dale!!!! :D How I loved the pristine clear intro, the flute put me back in the time Jan Anderson played on the stage with Jethro Tull! But not only this, I was so positively suprised when the tune turned on to a Hard Rock genre..... cool ( and yes there is also a B3 playing if I am right )!! Loved the guitar riff at the outro played unisono with the bass and ending with the flute: very good choice!! As always top shelf production, my congrats on a fabulous song Dale, keep the fire alive ! -Spin-

Love the intro...superb acoustic guitar and impressive flute work. It adds much feeling to the track and supports your vocals nicely. Great arrangement with each instrument clearly defined, balanced, and perfectly presented in the mix. The production quality is AWESOME!!! Your vocals: top shelf performance here with a great (albeit) somber story that tells of emotional ups and downs of the human psyche. This is the art of music-making at its finest.

Love the lyrics and fits with the music very well. As always top shelf musicianship and your vocals sound great. I think I'm hearing some Ian Anderson influences here. Great work, Dale!

Very dark, but a place we've all been at some time or another, so everyone will relate - superb lyrics. Love the arrangement (as Bob said), I like the change of gear from folk to harder rock. Great to hear the flute, adds a touch of eeriness and brings an interesting new dimension to the harder rock parts. Fantastic atmosphere, it's always the vibe that makes a song a winner for me...and this one is a definite winner.

Wow Dale - what a Rock ballad!! Quite a story of a persons depressed state - sometimes the darkness can creep up... Fantastic build up from folk rock to a harder rock - that Hammond Leslie just gives the shivers man! Great vocal job - and that bass is groovin! Sweet flute too ;)
